LLA: 3D Animator

Location: Remote

Level: Entry-Level

What You’ll Do

As a 3D animator, you will be creating animations for Lunalight Academy. The majority of animation work will be creating animations for moves in our combat system. You will work with the team on brainstorming and discussing move ideas, then creating storyboards for the moves.

Using the storyboards you will work with our creative studio partners on creating animations for our characters. You will be in charge of auditing and revising the work from our studio partners to ensure it fits the storyboards and is of sufficient quality.

You will be expected to do some animation work but depending on how much time you want to commit we will offload animation work to our studio partners.

​

We may ask you to create the moves you work on in our engine. This will require knowledge of the Unity Timeline system as well as our move system. If we ask you to do this we will provide documentation and adequate training.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with solid animation experience. This does not mean you must have created animations for games before but prior industry experience is a bonus.

We highly encourage you to submit examples of your work in the form of a portfolio.

What skills are required for the position

  • Experience working with animation software (Maya, Blender, C4D, or 3DS max)

  • Experience animating humanoid and nonhumanoid rigs.

  • Ability to export animations for Unity and Unreal Engine.

  • Basic illustration skills for creating storyboards.

  • Prior industry experience creating humanoid animations.

  • Solid understanding of editing particle systems in Unity

  • Collaborative attitude and passion for game design and development.

  • Experience managing or providing feedback to artists.
